The Federació Junta Fallera de Sagunt (FJFS — the local Fallas federation) has proclaimed Empar Ríos and Maria Pozuelo as its new Fallera Mayor and Fallera Mayor Infantil for the 2026-2027 season.

Sagunto's City Council chamber hosted the official proclamation of the new Falleras Mayores (festival queens) of the Federació Junta Fallera de Sagunt (FJFS), the umbrella body overseeing the Fallas — a traditional Valencian festival of fire and papier-mâché figures. Deputy mayor María José Carrera proclaimed Empar Ríos, from Falla El Palleter, as Fallera Mayor, and Maria Pozuelo, from Falla El Romano, as Fallera Mayor Infantil (children's representative) for 2026-2027. The ceremony was led by FJFS secretary-general Juan José Monge and FJFS president Aitor Muñoz. Both new representatives received a commemorative certificate, together with their Courts of Honour — twelve young women in total, drawn from nine different Fallas. Ríos was selected through a two-day residential process evaluated by a five-member jury; Pozuelo stood as the sole candidate for the children's title. Outgoing Falleras Ana Martínez and Noa Barea attended alongside local dignitaries. According to elperiodicodeaqui.com, the atmosphere was warm and celebratory.
